29th December, 1925.)

Compliment paid by the Fraternity Party to the Strikers.

The Fraternity Party on their arrival at Canton, resolved to send on Sunday the 27th at 11 a.m. deputies

to the Canton and Hongkong Strike Commission at Tung Yuen to pay their respects to the Strikers. On that day the Commission, the Picket Committee and the Managers and Staffs of their various offices met at 9.a.m. on their association premises, and at 10 a.m. the Picket Committee and other Representatives together with more than 3,000 members of the Pickets fell in on the open ground of Tung Yuen to offer a welcome. At 12.30 p.m. the Reception Officer, Kan Kam Shex, Secretary of the Nationalist Government, came with Tse Shu Tong, Tsoi Cheung, Wong Kwai Hi and other Representatives of the Fraternity Party 40 in all. The Pickets presented arms, and the band played. The Representatives raised their hats, and returned a salute. Kan led them into Tung Yuen, and introduced them to So Shiu Ching and Tsang Tsz Im, Present and Vice President of the Strike Commission respectively, and the Committee, in the office of the Commission. They shook hands with one another, and exchanged compliments very warmly. Then the Commission led them to the Pickets Training Pavilion, and held a meeting to welcome them. Several thousands of workmen were present, and all seats were filled. Ko Cham, a member of the Commission, presided, and after the announcement of the reason of the meeting, So Shiu Ching spoke, "Now you, gentlemen of the Hongkong Fraternity Party, have come to visit our Strikers, and we members of the Commission and the Strikers are filled with gratitude. In future the friendship of the workmen and merchants of Canton and Hongkong will be much improved
